ARCHITECT OF STYLE “There certainly is a close relationship between the work of an architect and that of the couturier” - Pierre Balmain While Monsieur Balmain’s creativity and eye for composition is evident in his fashion designs and the installation of the House's flagships, there is no place that reflected his love of structure more than #VILLABALMAIN. Built on the Italian island of Elba in the late 1950s by famed Italian architect Leonardo Ricci, the spaceship-looking mansion has become one of the most admired architectural creations of the 20th century, thanks to its dialogue with the the natural landscapes surrounding it. This unique dialogue is precisely what inspired artist @alexandrearrechea’s artistic reinterpretation of the iconic Villa - “Hexagon Garden” - presented at @superblue.art during Miami Art Week and repurposing codes from both Pierre Balmain’s signature New French Style and exceptional Rousteing Era designs.
