Chinese New Year is traditionally a time for huge joyous family reunions which I always used to find slightly stressful. Relatives you don’t really get along with flood your home, there’s always money problems (not enough cash to lavish presents on everyone etc). But this year reunions are impossible and I find myself missing those messy family gatherings where everyone is half-enjoying themselves and half-sulking because of some grievance.
