It’s a story I’ve told many times before in various interviews, but there’s always new followers out there so let’s go again :) ___ @cyrildeep is the first DJ I ever listened to on the radio, he’s the one responsible for my love of house music. It’s the spring of 1997, I’m discovering everything, hearing about the word «house» for the first time, and Cyril is there on Radio Nova playing the very best of the fresh news from MAW, Kerri, Blaze and everything else.. (and he’s been doing it for some years already at the time) I’m recording the shows on tape and I’m playing these over and over again, thinking «what's all this crazy good music?!?». ___ One specific blend gets my attention (amongst all of the other great records being played!) - The ‘Organ Dub’ of ‘Shazz - El Camino’ mixed with ‘Charles McDougald - That’s Life’. What a voice!!! Listening to that tune now still makes me crazy the same way as the 1st time around.. ___ Not long after discovering that hidden world on the radio, I ask my mum to bring me over to the Radio Nova hq, 33 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine. Luckily Cyril is there that day and I can get his signature. I kept that piece of paper (swipe left!).. Few years later I would ask Kerri to sign it too :) ____ It’s now 2020 and Cyril has devoted the last 30 years of his life to electronic music..
