⚠️ Temporary Closure Alert! Swipe for closure map. Shafer Trail Road will close for routine maintenance October 24–27, October 31–November 3, and November 7–10 (Monday through Thursday). The closure applies to all use including mountain bikes, motorcycles, 4WD vehicles and hikers. The road will reopen for public use at 4 pm each Thursday and stay open through weekends, closing again at 7:30 am Monday morning. Heavy rains this monsoon season caused deep ruts and damage, and the current condition is much rougher than usual. This maintenance project will repair tread surfaces and road shoulders to help improve conditions and the overall integrity of the road.
