Okay lets be real... it's hard to 'love' your body every second of every single day your body is going to fluctuate!!... your stomach will expand when you eat, you're going to get bloated. you're going to catch yourself at a bad angle; & not always like what you see in the mirror This is something I’ve been practicing a lot lately as i’ve had some struggles with my hormones & bad bloating (spoke about this on the most recent podcast ep @realgirlsradio - and moving away from seeing my body as “good” or “bad” - I’ve really had to practice feeling neutral towards it and focusing on my HEALTH over aesthetics. But the more I do this, genuinely the more I’ve noticed that I’ve been happier & had more time and mental energy to focus on other more important things Here’s some of my tips + what I recommend to clients: 🤎STOP BODY CHECKING. I used to check my body and analyse my stomach/ how bloated I was WAY too often. Now, if I feel a bit more bloated... I don’t even look in the mirror! What’s the point!? Where something you feel comfy in where you're not going to fixate on your body all day 🤎CHOOSE HEALTH + FITNESS GOALS THAT AREN’T PURELY JUST AESTHETIC FOCUSED. It’s so healthy to have fitness goals that have nothing to do with your appearance: how you feel, your strength, your performance, your mood, sleep, energy! 🤎REFRAME THOUGHTS AROUND YOUR BODY - Our bodies aren’t here just to look “good” - our bodies literally carry us through life and do so many incredible things for us that we don’t recognise or appreciate day to day 🤎AVOID COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHER PEOPLE - body comparison is silly... we all have different genetics, different shapes, sizes, heights etc and we will never look like somebody else (nor should we want to?!) - we need to appreciate how amazing our UNIQUE bodies are 🤎PICK UP OTHER INTERESTS BESIDES JUST THE GYM. I used to be just a ‘fitness girl’ like I completely attached my entire existence to being a gym goer and felt the pressure to represent this in my physical appearance every second of every day. Having other hobbies can give you more purpose and more to think about besides just your physical results from training 😘🤎 @empower_training
