A Maniot specialty that has infiltrated the Greek cuisine across every region, this dessert is made using only the rawest of ingredients: flour and eggs.
The mixture is painstakingly rolled out to form the most delicate sheets of dough, hand cut haphazardly then pan fried with local Extra Virgin olive oil. Carefully prodded and twisted into shape by hand using a fork in either hand, the name of this dessert diples, literally means to fold in Greek.
Topped with honey, cinnamon and walnuts, there is no scent as welcoming as freshly made diples.
