In addition to two new moth jewels, we are also honored to be offering x2 *new* @blackphoenixalchemylab perfume oils, Grief Moth & Grief Moth Part II. Both of these scents were inspired directly off of the designs and ideas of the jewels which Beth from BPAL as works in progress. I love this way of working with her, this intuitive creative synergy between her work and ours, how she translates my heart and story into her own and into scent. For me scent is talismanic, her oils have played a large part in my life : they conjure memory { I only wear certain ones certain months, I have forever favorites - Silky Bat, Snake Oil }, they protect me, I wear them as part of my writing ritual, my sculpting ritual, my actually leaving the house ‘ritual’ .....In this video I’m showing how I ‘wear’ scent when I feel I might be in migraine territory but still want to feel connected to my favorite oils as well as have them be in relationship with my jewelry. This is a personal practice and doesn’t equate to it being akin to a scent locket - just something I got in the habit of doing when I got my chronic migraine disability diagnosis. While these days I’m able to wear oil on my skin more without issue again, I still like to have my jewels ‘wear’ oils as well and for me, it creates a kind of web of connection between my jewelry, my body, my hair and even parts of my home such as my doorways and other seemingly ‘mundane’ objects like my sculpting tools & pens. • I’m so lucky to get to work with this truly remarkable and inspiring company, who is like family to me, and is relocating to our city, Philadelphia, in the near future🖤 While we have limited bottles on hand in the studio, we will be able to offer more in the future should they fly away to new homes quickly.
