My mum had hair like one of them welcome matts you have outside the front of your house. Really thick, course and dry. She used to go to the salon all the time, these were the days when women would go to the salon to have a blow-dry a couple of times a week. I was sitting there and she said “What are you going to do with your life?” Because I had decided I wasn’t going to go back to school. I can’t believe that I didn’t go back and take any exams.I was 15 and I said “I dunno”She said “You love fashion, you love girls, you hate getting your hands dirty and you hate the cold weather... what about hair?”So it was my mum that got some numbers of salons in London off the guy that was doing her hair.
