For awareness only with no threat to Anaheim, the East Fire has burned about 50 acres in the San Gabriel Mountains north of La Verne. At higher elevations in our city, a smoke plum from the East Fire is visible to the north. The fire is burning in a remote area more than 40 miles from our city. Fire in our region is a good reminder that we are entering peak fire season.
