If @Levis are on a mission to change the fashion industry for good, why don't they want to #SignTheAccord? The International Accord on Health and Safety in the garment and textile industry not only protects garment workers but gives workers the power to hold brands accountable when factories are unsafe. This is just one reason why the legally binding nature of the Accord is so important. As of 2020, @Levis themselves reported 50% of their South Asian factories and 57% of their North Asian factories had experienced health and safety issues. Just a few months ago a Levi's factory in Vietnam burnt to the ground. It is extremely lucky that none of the 7,000 factory workers who made Levi's products were inside. But Levi's think they can do better on their own and refuse to sign the International Accord, an agreement proven to save lives.
