Times Square is ✨glittering gold✨ all month long with ‘Patrón Mono: Ríos Libres, Pueblos Vivos’ by Carolina Caycedo [@lacaycedo], September’s #MidnightMoment co-presented with @thearmoryshow and @institutodevision. Mirrored abstractions of the Cauca River region of Colombia 🇨🇴 transform over 90 billboards in Times Square every night in September from 11:57pm to 12am. Calling attention to the effects of the Hidroituango dam failure on the lower Cauca River canyon in Antioquia, Colombia, September’s Midnight Moment is also a continuation of Caycedo’s ‘Water Portraits’, in which the artist reimagines bodies of water as autonomous living beings, and invites us to decolonize and reevaluate our relationship to the natural landscape. You can see more of Caycedo’s work this weekend September 9-11 at the 2022 Armory Show fair, presented at the Javits Center in New York City. We are proud to present ‘Patrón Mono: Ríos Libres, Pueblos Vivos’ in Times Square as a part of the Armory Off-Site 2022 season, the fair’s outdoor art program. Head to our official website at the link in our bio to learn more about September’s #MidnightMoment Midnight Moment is the world’s largest, longest-running digital art exhibition, synchronized on over 90 electronic billboards throughout Times Square nightly from 11:57pm to midnight. This year, Times Square Arts is celebrating the ten year anniversary of the Midnight Moment series with a roster of all women and femme-expansive artists until April 2023. #MidnightMoment #CarolinaCaycedo #PatrónMono #RíosLibres #thearmoryshow #institutodevision #tsqarts #TimesSquareArts #digitalart #videoart #publicart
