If you’re using Esembly diapers, there’s no need to spray! (LET US EXPLAIN) First and foremost, we’d just like to note that while your baby is on a milk-only diet (formula or breast milk) your diapers can go straight to wherever you store your diapers for laundering. No rinsing, spraying, or pretreatment required. It's only when solids are introduced that you'll need to remove the bulk of the poo prior to laundering. At that stage, we gotta admit, we’re just not big fans of spraying (mostly because it's messy!) But also because wetting the diapers and then letting them sit in the bag or pail until laundry day is really akin to soaking (which is something we NEVER recommend doing) and in our experience, we've seen it lead to various issues in some cases, like odor build-up, mold, or premature degradation of the fabric. That said, we understand that this method works great for many families! If you do choose to spray, our advice would be to just make sure to really wring out the diapers before dropping them into the bag or pail, and monitor your diapers closely. Our recommendation though is to skip the spraying and opt for something like our Tossers or Stay-Dry Liners to remove the bulk of any solid matter prior to washing. They're arguably the easiest way to remove the poop. But if you choose not to use our Tossers or Stay-Dry Liners, that's no problem! To remove solid waste, you'll simply want to give your diapers a shake over the toilet (or use a swipe of toilet paper or wipe to remove the poo if it's extra sticky), then toss in your Pail Pouch for laundering. When following our 2-cycle washing instructions, your machine will take care of the rest :) #clothdiapersupport #clothdiapertips #clothdiaperlaundry #sustainableparenting
