Hitting the Olympia stage for the first time in 2020, I couldn’t believe that I had made it there. And to then have the honor of making it to finals amongst the top 10 bikini athletes in the world shook my mind and soul. To this day, I sit in awe at what I was able to accomplish in my competitive career because it was never something in the cards for me or in my sights. Ever since I embarked on this journey it was always a means of an escape for me, something I did to get me through the hard times in real life. Pop on my @shawnscouture suit, throw on my face and hair, and show up as Jazzyfresh and have a few moments to shine in the light away from the dark and it was everything I could ever ask for. To then make it somewhere along this journey and in this industry, blows my mind. I found so much more than the aesthetic improvements along the way, I started to find myself. This process exposes you to your mental weaknesses on a daily and leaves you in a position where you are faced with the choice to keep going or not. Where you’re in full control of the outcome through your hard work and integrity to the process. And every day I chose to get up and execute as best as possible because I knew that at the end of the day what’s brought to stage relies on my efforts and it was up to me to make it happen.
