🌻I miss a lot of things but I’ve never missed a first day of school without a sunflower. What a tragic honor. Last night, I received a package in the mail from some of Texas’ most incredible humans. This Uvalde Strong gear from the Tree City squad. I’ll leave their story for them, but Uvalde is so much more than any headline and Coach and Erica and her fam are my fam and our fam these days / forever. It’s the honor of our lifetimes, I think, to take care of each other, to love on each other, to listen to each other, to get each other what we need. This is not alone policies and systems and procedures. If we choose to move like your children are my children are our children not Those children, then that’s it. #uvaldestrong Take care of our children. We can and gotta work the dream of safety and belonging and justice (and sunflowers) for all.
