When I was creating this event, it was very important to me to raise awareness that QTAPI have intersecting identities that put us at risk of violence and discrimination in many forms. But on a brighter note, I also wanted to spotlight the TENACITY, HEART and CREATIVITY of our QTAPI community: 🥒 @thelescook Jessie crafted a gorgeous menu with refreshing and familiar flavors that felt like a gaysian hug for our tummies. 💐 @halamannyc Tyler and Alex created bouquets of flowers with whimsy and pure glee, aptly fashioned in the 🏳️‍⚧️ colors of the trans pride flag. 🧑🏻‍🎨 @nessafiesta Vanessa created the sweetest flyer and t-shirt. Peko-chan made into a pissed off queer Asian ready 2 fight was so spot on. Working with Vanessa was soooo fun. 🥊 @bri_cea @oca_ny Bri brought her organizing and badass Muay Thai skills and loving, caring energy. 🫶🏻 🌈 @karen47lee Karen’s bright, glowing, transcending energy lit up the whole room. Her organizing at @qwavenyc inspires me so much! 🦄 @rioriobangbang Rio brought impeccable vibes, and an incredibly helpful hand during the class drills. 💕 📸 @marionaguas Marion’s impeccable eye created the beautiful images you see here. Marion navigated the tender space beautifully, with grace and respect, which some photographers lack. Every day of my life I will unwrap more of the gifts that being Queer and Asian have brought me.
