My grandparents were important people in my life. We stopped by their gravesite this evening and I tried to relay to my children who they they were. My grandpa served in WWII and afterwards often worked three jobs to support his family of six children (who would be that crazy?! 😂). My grandma - all 4’10” in her old age - was a strong woman and mom, and spent much of her life serving others. One of the qualities I admired in both of them was how simple their life was and how simple things made them happy. It’s something I’ve thought a lot about lately. Although I did not grow up in Utah, we coincidentally ended up a hundred yards from the house they built brick-by-brick and less than a mile from where they now rest. I think of them often, am inspired by their example and am grateful for the son they raised who is my dad. Hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day.
