These pieces have been over a year in the making : with the ‘mini’ Planchette Grief Moth finding its life in those strange, isolated days in March 2020 and the tear laden large Grief Moth starting in the room beside a beloved loved one as they began transitioning out of this life and into the next. My whole heart, shredded as its been this past year, as well as my spirit is in every little bit of these pieces and I can say the same for Devon, Miguel & Jen, even Aaron 🖤 • When I first made the planchette moth into a piece of jewelry back in 2016 I didn’t expect so many people to resonate with it ~ since then I’ve had people write notes to me about how they believed when they have had moths come into their field of vision that they knew it was the spirits of loved ones visiting them, or that it was a sign they were on right path. These fragile and transformative beauties are ancient and chthonic; here I’ve tethered my own meanings and my own stories to a talismanic object that I hope brings you comfort, that I hope can help soothe you either physically by their tactile nature or emotionally by helping you ‘carry’ your grief or other turbulent feels - or I hope they can become something ‘beautiful’ that brings joy and inspiration into your daily life, a presence that can ‘live’ alongside and with you.
