I know these lists can go on and on. And I know that there are some things that are more important to us than others. But I cannot tell you the number of times I’ve used all of these items (I’m 3 kids deep right now), or how many times I jump on Amazon and send them to friends who tell me their pregnant (it’s all the time). Pregnant, postpartum, or thinking about baby? Join me @thelabormama for daily education + support! Best part is - all of this is about $100. Babies are expensive - but these items may feel a little easier on the budget too. 1. Portable white noise - Honestly, this charge lasts forever, it’s super affordable, and ours has lasted us 6 years. 100% yes, hands down. 2. Egg light - Bring it to the hospital for those newborn nights, keep it at the bedside for middle of the night feeds, then move it to the nursery when baby moves. It’s the perfect brightness - I promise. 3. The Nose Frida - I know it grosses so many out. I actually refused to use it with my first. But babies are often so snorty and congested (and it can make them really noisy sleepers too which can be tough for you!) while their nasal passages continue to grow - and this really does help. Refuse to buy one of these? Then next baby care suggestion is the temporal thermometer. As soon as baby is the right age for these, they’s just the easiest. 4. Electric nail filer - Keeping babies’ hands free and out of those mittens is so important as you do skin to skin and feed. Many of us but them in mittens so they won’t scratch - but I think we should be filing the nails so we don’t have to worry about that and let the hands out! 5. @haakaausa milk collector - If there’s another one you love, great. But if you want to breastfeed, this is worth the money. I don’t care if you get a 1/4 ounce or 3 ounces. It’s all hard work - catch it. Not breastfeeding? Then my substitute item would be a wipe dispenser. Don’t settle for a cheap one (I tried with my first 🤦🏼‍♀️ and immediately switched). I don’t think it has to warm wipes, but heck yes to be able to pull 1 wipe at a time out easily. ••••• What would you add? But it needs to be TOP 5 and something you feel most people could afford.
