Workers in Myanmar making clothes for adidas have gone on strike, demanding a wage increase from 4,800 kyat ($2.29) to 8,000 kyat ($3.80) and respect for their rights, including the right to freedom of association. The political and economic turmoil in the country has caused the kyat to drop, and the poverty-level wage does not cover workers essentials. Adidas is the main buyer and must take action now!
We stand in solidarity with the Pou Chen workers and all adidas workers worldwide who are demanding that adidas end wage theft in their supply chain and protect workers' rights! #PayYourWorkers #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
