One of the members of our #HESTDreamTeam we cannot be more psyched to have is @__alyssagonzalez. Residing in Boulder, Colorado Alyssa is an avid mountain biker, skier and advocate for racial and gender diversity in the outdoors. "I started skiing at 24 years old and biking at 26 -- so the "Outdoors" is a new space for me." At 28, Alyssa is extremely active in her local cycling community. The goal: everyone and anyone can and should be able to have access to enjoy the outdoors. "As an advocate for women of color, Black, Brown, Indigenous and people of color plus other historically underrepresented and marginalized folks, I hope to help others reframe their idea of who an outdoors athlete is through education, events, storytelling, and more." We are so stoked to have Alyssa on our team, and help her achieve her goals as a BIPOC woman athlete, advocate, and mentor of her community. The outdoor space can be an intimidating space for many, and Alyssa goes to show if you're passionate, anything can be achieved. At the end of the month, Alyssa will be attending the Roam Fest Fruita, a women's mountain biking festival, where she will be camping with her HEST set up!
