We don’t use Ai. We understand it can/will be great for some things, and we know in some ways it will become unavoidable, but in our independent business it’s an absolute no-no. Everything we do is done by hand and human brains. Creative thinking is at the heart of what we do and we’re afraid of individuality and traditional techniques getting lost, and everything starting to look the same. We’ve been developing a logo for our next drop and we’ve been experimenting with hand cut stencil printing and hand painting based on one of our original drawings. In the past we have been guilty of seeing such a process as a ‘waste’ of time, especially when there are only so many hours in a day and we’re just 2 people running a whole business. However, we know that the result will be better because we are fulfilled by it, and because it is personal and individual.
