Just remembering that I started my week meeting @cathiewood.official 🤗 I was lucky enough to have been invited to a private industry event where it was little ol’ me, content creator and financial educator, and a room full of executives from all the big banks in Canada. To say that I felt out of place is a big understatement, but hey, I wanted to meet one of the very few women who has made such a big impact on the investing world. Like, honestly, can anyone else think of another woman with the same clout as Cathie Wood in the industry? And if you’re curious, I’d say the room was about 90% men. A pretty typical glimpse at how the industry is still very male dominated. Which just goes to show that we still have a lot of work to do to improve diversity in the financial space and why we need to lift up other voices to see some real change moving forward.
