As we enter the New Year, it’s common for us to feel motivated enough to make bold claims like, “This is my year!” But it’s important to remember that motivation and inspiration are not the only drivers for achieving our goals. Consistent action, focus and delaying gratification are just as important in ensuring we reap the sweetest fruit. In fact, if we rely solely on motivation and inspiration, we may find that our progress is fleeting and unreliable.⁣ ⁣ Another key element to achieving desirable results is being intentional in your decisions and actions. This means actively choosing how you want to use your energy and being mindful of the outcomes you wish to manifest. By being intentional, you take control of your life and create the reality you want rather than living in default mode.⁣ ⁣ Sustainable growth and self-improvement come from a place of self-love, not shame or disdain. When we accept ourselves fully and embrace our imperfections, we open ourselves up to growth and evolution. So as you make changes in the New Year, or at any time, be sure to approach them with self-compassion and care.⁣ ⁣ It’s easy to fall into the victim or bystander mentality, but remember that we significantly influence our own lives. While we may not have control over everything that happens to us, we can choose our response and attitude towards it. Let’s empower ourselves to make conscious decisions and take ownership of our reality, rather than leaving things to chance.⁣ ⁣ Finally, remember that new beginnings can happen at any time, not just at the start of a new year. After all, time doesn’t exist; only clocks do. Let’s adopt a growth mindset and implement a kaizen approach to life where we improve continuously.
