As a guy who knew all the glory that was the Gear Daddies and spent a decade playing music for minor league hockey, the song is near and dear. But, today as I watched the Sandboni groom the beach, well past the crowds of summer, the change of season firmly entrenched in the air, it struck me that it is an attempt to keep the sands of time from marching on. That as the winds of change pick up, the sands blow and drift, changing the landscape, covering up what had been sand castles, writing initials, first footprints after sunrise and more.
