The Shah predicted all the mess that’s taking place in Iran today. I support a republic and a democracy over a monarchy but not what Iran’s turned into after 1979. I can only imagine the challenges freedom fighters in Iran face knowing how much hardship they’ll face before Iran becomes a democracy or a republic. Imagine the parents who want their kids to be free, yet they don’t want to inspire them to the point where they’ll risk their lives for freedom. It’s a complicated situation to be in. To all the women in Iran who are burning their headscarves at anti-hijab protests, I applaud your courage. We all know the tragic event that happened to Masha Amini. May she Rest In Peace. I look forward to the day where I can pay a visit to Iran safely and show my kids the streets I grew up on.
