However, what I heard wasn’t nearly enough! When I walked into her to her premises I was overwhelmed by what I saw... Her walls were lined with framed photos of her life’s work as a hairstylist/barber/groomer to some of the biggest names of the fashion and entertainment industries in history! Scroll down her Instagram feed, way down and you’ll see what I’m talking about. I was overwhelmed with the feeling of RESPECT! I’m standing before an industry legend! This woman is just WOW! I’m talking Hall of Fame worthy WOW! Did you know that Mira was the innovator of the iconic fauxhawk? We sat down and started going through our shears and in the end Mira said I’ll have this one, this one, this one... ten times over to be exact! In that moment it occurred to me that this is what a true craftsperson is like. She sees what I see in different blade shapes for a different purpose. It’s this eye for detail that separates her from most and the reason she is able to produce incredible results in all of her work. It is a lesson for all hairstylists to invest in themselves and it shows that Mira is not just someone that did great things in the past but continues to be a trailblazer and an innovator... Her light is still shining very brightly. What I love about Mira is her humbleness. She became kind of shy when I told her how amazing she is. She’s generous - allowing me to film her cutting on actor & very cool Adam Rodriguez. Mira is caring, loyal, approachable and doesn’t have an ounce of a high and mighty attitude. Mira is the epitome of what all hairstylists striving for success should aim to be like. Her latest work has been on the movie ELVIS which will be Huge!Getting to know Mira has been a privilege. I have a very warm friend place in my heart for her and I’m obsessed with a styling product that she was instrumental in creating called House of Scuff potion 1... it’s more like love potion!
