Over the weekend, my parents threw a little reception party to celebrate @thomcharlesb’s and my recent marriage. We were so grateful to be joined by friends, family, and neighbors in Maryland—all the people who watched me grow up. A massive thank you to my mom, dad, and sister for all the work they put into making it a beautiful, special day for everyone and to my friend @nicoletpham who lent her talents to making our gorgeous balloon arch.
I gave a speech there where I spoke about how it was the love everyone in that room collectively showed me throughout my life that taught me how to love others and in turn, how to find and nurture healthy, deep romantic love. I believe weddings are meant to celebrate the communities of people who raised and cared for the bride and groom as much as they are designed to fête the newlyweds. I’m so abundantly grateful to everyone who came and everyone who didn’t and was thinking of us. Thank you all too for your many messages! 🩵
We’ve now celebrated our marriage in France and Maryland. But we aren’t fully done yet; we’re excited to have a special vow ceremony much later in New York, in part to mark the start of our shared life there together.
Being from different countries means doing our wedding events differently but we’re so excited to spread the celebrations out and spend time with our loved ones in France and the U.S. 🩵💙 Swipe for photos from our Maryland celebration.
