Practice what you preach 😜⁣ ⁣ Ask “what’s local?”, even better “any idea where this was caught”. Eat locally-caught seafood. ⁣ Go direct to the fishermen (or fishing family ☝️) when possible. ⁣ ⁣ San Diego has an impressive fishing community. Unfortunately majority of the US domestic catch is exported to other countries. Seafood imported into other countries is mostly processed and re-exported, making it harder to track the origin of the catch. This re-exporting approach only facilitates fraud, mislabeling, slave labor, and further illegal fishing activities. The US is the GOLD standard for sustainable commercial fisheries. Choose local, we promise- it not only tastes better—it is guaranteed fresher.⁣ ⁣ Photo: California King Crab (yes, CALIFORNIA KING CRAB), Paralithodes californiensis. Cooked for 8 minutes (shell will turn bright orange when done) and immediately served with hot melted butter. ⁣ Local seafood can be hard to find. We’re doing our best to make our catch available to our community, while it’s important to mention we struggle due to logistical challenges and regulatory shifts sometimes daily, we’re adamant your support will keep sustainable fishing alive. ⁣ ⁣ 💋Huge thank you to our community!
