Thank you #SFOEWD for supporting opportunities for future local entrepreneurs and strengthening our community. 🎞️ Pictured is SFMade Director of Workforce & Youth Programs George Colón presenting to Seniors at Lincoln High School in Ms.Lee’s design program! Students are learning about product design, sustainability, business, prototyping, and learning through projects about diverse career pathways and how might manufacturing serve as an engine to entrepreneurship. Students are first exposed to “What is Manufacturing?” presentation: 👉 broad overview of #manufacturing - What is it? 👉 how one can be an #SFMade manufacturer 👉 what local manufacturing looks like now in #SanFrancisco 👉 example of the diversity of products & industries 👉 different jobs that are created when businesses intentionally choose to make here in #SF 👉 potential internship opportunities 👉 how to access our free job board that can be a resource for anyone you know! (Entry level, part-time, full-time, seasonal, managerial/supervisor, & more.) We send out interest surveys (listing all the different verticals of manufacturers we work with) to the classes after the presentation to see where students interest lie. This data drives our programming so that SFMade can arrange tours and exciting learning experiences with a great match of manufacturer.
