"The first time I felt represented in the media is when I saw a video of a female veteran just being normal. A lot of the times the media portrays us in very tragic ways. You see the caskets coming home, the sad stories of female veterans and misconduct. But you very rarely see us as just normal people. I hope we can change that. I want other students and colleagues to know that we are all around you. You have student veterans sitting in your classroom. You have faculty and staff who have served. We are your brothers, your cousins, your grandparents. We just want to be heard and seen like everyone else."
