Every year in New Zealand, consumers of cleaning products, hand wash and shower gels buy enough plastic bottles to cover the length of our beautiful Te Araroa Trail. 😳 It takes 120 days to walk the Te Araroa trail, but thousands of years to degrade all that plastic. As it is recycling week in New Zealand, it is a timely reminder we can make simple and easy changes to help reduce the amount of single use packaging we are using and discarding. We need to make sure we are properly recycling the products we do purchase, and where possible look for ways to minimise items needing to be recycled in the first place.
