🕙 Time for another T!C arts fest recap! - - - - - - Back to my roots at 21 Pell 🌱 This was the place that my very first T!C storytelling event happened back in 2019, when I was (+ still am) very fresh to NYC. Three years later, we were back to premiere a new season of our Landmarks storytelling project. This project has been yet another excuse for me to hang and talk with my neighbors about their personal landmarks and memories here in Chinatown. I finally got to meet Grayson’s aunt Marcella Chin, who he’s been wanting me to meet ever since we first met. (She used to host basement dance parties playing records on Mulberry Street in her 20’s 👀) I also got recruited to help Mee Mee try on her Cantonese opera costumes in exchange for her beloved record collection. We revisited our neighborhood’s lost arts and cultural spaces, from theaters like Sun Sing Theatre and Music Palace to community hubs like Asian American Dance Centre and Man Chee Dramatic and Benevolent Association.
