There are so many great things in @illybeats ’s Riddim book. Billy showed me a few pages when he was working on it years ago and I loved it immediately. So many rhythmic, melodic, and even harmonic ideas for drums. @daveelitch suggested I play some of the triplet feel claves as 16th note duples (making each beat 4 notes from 3). So fun to weave back and forth, and then try to sit somewhere in between. X•XX•X•XX•X•
