As we end the week, we look back on our City Council’s vote on Tuesday to recognize Little Arabia, an area we have always celebrated as part of what makes Anaheim great. The designation brings immediate, formal recognition of Little Arabia, with specifics still to be worked out. Now the real work begins with a study of the entire Brookhurst Street corridor to identify how we can support all businesses, including those that are part of Little Arabia and those that are part of the larger Brookhurst business community. While the council approved a working boundary between Broadway and Ball Road, a study could determine if that is best, as well as how to incorporate Little Arabia businesses that might fall just outside that initial boundary. We’ll also look at whether the Little Arabia recognition works best as a cultural or business designation. And, of course, we'll look at other elements of Brookhurst that need attention to support a thriving corridor for the long term. Stay tuned!
