I’ve been coming to their lounge ever since it opened- it’s such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood and great, affordable place to stay. UWS RECS: **pro tip-save all these places to your favorites on Google maps** Stay: The Wallace Eat: Brunch- Daily Provisions, The Granola Bar, Bluestone Lane, Maman, Community Food & Juice,Modern Bread (gluten free bagels & bakery), Broad Nosh Bagels, Absolute Bagel (currently closed but reopening soon), Cafe Luxembourg, Miriam, Jacob’s Pickle, Barney Greengrass Dinner- La Sirene, The Milling Room, Awash (Ethiopian- my fave), Celeste (cash only) Shalel (it’s SO cool here), Tessa, Asset, Dagon, Elea, Osteria Academia, Mizu (non-fancy sushi place we recently discovered) Rudraks (amazing Indian) Lincoln (fancy place to eat if you see a show at Lincoln Center), Bad Roman (not quite UWS but deserves a mention!) Pizza by the slice: Mama’s Too, Sal & Carmine’s, La Traviata (all different but my 3 favs in the neighborhood) Drink: The Wallace Lounge, Vin sur Vingt (I prefer the one on 85th street), Da Capo, Dublin House (Causal Irish spot for a Guinness), Owl’s Tail, The Dakota Bar, Scarlet, Caledonia Coffee/tea: Plant Shed, Chalait (matcha), Irving Farm, Solid State, Cloud Touch Snacks & treats: Levain, Super Nice (Sebastian is obsessed with the donuts), Hungarian Pastry Shop, Magnolia Bakery, Zabar’s, Maman, Bread’s Bakery, Epices, Janie’s Life-Changing Baked Goods Do: Shop at the Grand Bazaar & farmers market (Sundays), visit a museum- the American Folk Art Museum, NY Historical Society, Museum of Natural History or the Children’s Museum. See a puppet show at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre, ride the Central Park carousel, see a ballet, opera or the Philharmonic at Lincoln Center, wait in line for free tickets to Shakespeare in the Park, or a see show at Symphony Space or the Beacon Theatre, catch a late night comedy show at West Side Comedy Club or my favorite- dinner and a jazz show at Smoke.
