Drag is an art form, and art is for everyone. 🏳️‍🌈 Creating all-ages events for youth to be involved in the queer community is vital, and Storytelling with Drag Queens has always fostered these environments here in Vancouver. Drag storytime and family-friendly queer programming are essential to the survival of queer and trans youth. It was disheartening to see the protest that happened this Sunday in Kitsilano. The protestors attacked what was meant to be a safe space for our community, putting children and their families at risk. Vancouver Pride society stands with Storytelling With Drag Queens and Kits Neighborhood House. We are committed to continue producing family-friendly queer programming in the city, ensuring that everyone can have access to spaces where they feel comfortable being their most authentic selves. We encourage our community members to show up for each other during these tumultuous times, be grateful for the art that drag performers share, and be visible to the queer youth in your communities.
