It's been a stressful day for Mr. Bentley, furriends. We took him for his head CT and dropped him off in the morning. They wanted the neurologist to do a consult before any testing due to my vets thought (and mine) that maybe this could all be due to neck pain. He had to wait quite a bit to see the neurologist since they squeezed him in for an in house consult but after that, the internal medicine vet called and said since the vet dentist did a dental CT....even though it didn't show the full skull, they didn't think a head CT would show anything so it really wasn't worth doing - only if there was a massive tumor (which they think is very unlikely) but if is it a small tumor or perhaps a stroke or something, only an MRI would show that. They don't think neck pain and want to increase his gabapentin and gave another anticonvulsant to try if that increase doesn't help. So next we get a teleconsult scheduled for next week with the neurologist to discuss more in depth to determine if the MRI is necessary. Poor boy had a bad grinding attack after grooming tonight then his eye started winking/twitching badly right after (which has been something new the past few weeks) makes me still wonder if it is a nerve or something but I will of course ask the neurologist a zillion questions next week.
