As most of you know, I worked on Zen Intergalactic Ninja and the Kickstarter me and @stern8506 are doing to get all the art I did in the 90s in a compiled hardcover. What most of you don’t know, is me and Steve Stern co created a female character. She’s actually set in the future and would eventually be part of the Zen universe in the future. She’s also part of this compilation. We started telling her story in a dystopian cyber punk future but she never really got to tell her own story. The first panel was used on a calling card which were cards purchased to use calling credits over landlines. It almost seems like a parallel universe she was created in. She was created in 1995 and it was two years before Luc Besson’s Fifth Element was released. She was a similar archetype immersed in a culture of hoverboards, cyberpunk, graffitti and techno. She was a strong female archetype that I never truly got to develop as I had to leave the comic book world behind and get a job at the time.
