It started with Black Friday and goes on until the end of the year. These sales are extremely tempting and, unfortunately, end up with consumers realizing (a little too late) they bought products they didn’t really need. 🌿80% of these products end up in landfills (most unused and with their entire packing). 🌿The carbon footprint of this shopping season increases every year with products being shipped when purchased AND when they get returned. Shipping accounts for 3-4% carbon emissions generated by humans, with this number expected to increase by 17% by 2050. 🌿This sale season also has a huge impact on workers. Not only on those workers already being exploited by fast fashion brands or big companies that don’t provide fair wages nor humane working conditions but also on humans that package and ship products and work long schedules that involve 14+ hr days (Amazon workers fall under this category). Yes, this is modern slavery. 🌿The solution? YOU. Think before you buy. Do your research. Go deeper.
