My admiration for snakes has only grown since embarking on a several year commission involving a bronze screen, mirror, lighting and other objects for a room. There is no other animal that evokes such visceral terror but we are mesmerized. Recognition of their presence gives us awareness, admiration for their intensity - in stealth predation and visually arresting beauty, gave me endless inspiration. The idea of a patterned snake came in a dream. I drew it, sculpted it, cast it in bronze, and applied colors to augment the patterns. Thank you @nicolehollissf and collectors for providing the perfect setting for this process-pushing commission that I knew my talented team could handle.
