I will never get over the amount of faces I saw pull up on Tuesday. Looking up from the pass and seeing the lines outside of @woonkitchen gave me so much adrenaline. I always want to do my best and it felt insanely exhilarating to do my best for you. I am touched by the Asian community that came to eat my food, collectively of mine and of @woonkitchen - a community that eats the fish head, shows up for fish sauce, brings the funk and savours the spice. I am so here for it. You make cooking worth it. Seeing whole fish come back to the kitchen bare bones, mums curry wiped off the plate like there was nothing there to begin with and lamb ribs sucked dry made me want to cry. Maybe I even did a little bit. I’m so proud to be able to share this food that has been cultivated from generations past, from an upbringing of curiosity with my mum and dad and from a lifetime spent obsessing over fish sauce.
