After months of training. Hours of endurance. You made it to the finish line 👏
But what happens next?
If you ran the @royalparks with us yesterday or you’ve got another race coming up, don’t sweat it.
@therunnerbeans has four tips to help you (and your legs) recover post-race.
Focus on nutrition. Have a snack with protein and carbs within 30 mins of finishing the race and a balanced meal 1-2 hours after.
Look after your muscles. Foam rolling, massage guns, a massage ball or sports massage helps to alleviate muscle fatigue.
Practice active recovery. Try walking, swimming, light biking or yoga in the days after the race to help increase muscle blood flow and reduce muscle soreness.
Get plenty of sleep. It’s your body’s best recovery tool, so make sure you priortise sleep in the days leading up to and after the race to help reduce inflammation and improve healing.
