You know, when I first heard about the new series which followed an alternate timeline where magic is real and it creates a matriarchal military industrial complex, I thought to myself “Well, THAT’s frickin cool.” To then have the opportunity to step into that world in the middle of season two, with its established characters, storylines, and well-deserved fandom was a little intimidating. However, I very quickly realized that, from the top down, this was a show and group of people that had created a space and set that was so damn inclusive, supportive, and focused on telling the story, that any apprehension immediately melted away and I just wanted to get to work doing what I love with these incredible humans. And here we are two years later at the end of the journey. Firstly, I have to single out @demetria4real. It has been an absolute honour to have been in the trenches with you on this journey and to have gotten to love and support Anacostia onscreen (I’m still only slightly cheesed #Stanacostia never took off. WHAT. A. WASTE.). You are a blazing talent, an incredible and generous scene partner, and one of the most lovely humans I’ve had the pleasure to meet in this industry. You’ve got a fan and friend for life. ❤️ Eliot, thank you for creating such a beautiful, smart, epic world for us to play in and explore. Brian, thank you for weaving the intricate patterns of the tapestry and always being there to answer questions and support us all on set. @reallivsmum, thank you for steering the ship with such a sense of calm, intelligence, curiosity, silliness, and joy. If I ever get the chance to direct or produce, you are the benchmark I will always remember and aspire to. And to all the other incredible cast and crew, I was truly floored by the overwhelming amount of talent, care, gratitude, support, and love I witnessed each and every day working on this wonderful show. I’ve always believed that magic is just energy so strong and focused that it can do the unimaginable.
