I’m shaking things up with a memory from the past. I lived in the Ladera Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles from 2015-2019, and whenever my students or I needed a morale boost, or wanted to celebrate something, I would bring in @randysdonuts. I was recently reminded of this, and just HAD to draw their iconic original location 🍩 • The last 2 weeks I’ve been reminded multiple times how grateful I am for the years I lived in Los Angeles. It’s my former students, and our bonds that I reflect on the most - I am endlessly grateful to have been a very small part in their lives. The last class of 7th graders I taught in South Central LA graduated from high school this year, which absolutely blows my mind (has it really been that long?!) and a group of them got together during their graduation day to call me so I could join in the celebration from 3,000 miles away. What a special moment 🎓 The kind of moment I would have celebrated with 2 boxes of classic dozen 💖🥲
