So far this wedding season has been full of belly laughs, great stories and lots of chatter. One topic that keeps coming up is the idea that dirty hair is better for hairstyling than clean hair. I am here to tell you my friends...that couldn’t be further from the truth. Most gals with straight hair should wash their hair and blow it out the night before an event. The reason this is so important is because any amount of oil on the root area, whether it is naturally produced or added as a treatment, will create separation, weight, the inability to curl or backcomb. There is no amount of dry shampoo or powder that can neutralize and fluff up an oily root. The extension on the left was freshly washed, dried and curled. The extension on the right was washed treated with a small amount of coconut oil (this seems to be a popular choice), blown out and curled as well.
