Costume designer William Travilla is best known for creating some of the most memorable designs from Hollywood’s Golden Age. Over the course of his career, he has been estimated to design costumes, gowns, and suits for 270 stars, including Loretta Young, Joan Crawford, Paul Newman, Tony Curtis, to name a few. Known to some as Bill and others as just Travilla, most famously his designs for Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell have been forever etched in our minds.
