@showstudio’s Bodies of Knowledge seeks to challenge and reconsider how the body has been represented and imagined in visual culture and fashion image-making. For the idea of the 'breast', I've designed a two-piece corseted garment based on maternity and cradle-boarding, Florida sugarcane harvesting, stillness in life, and being bound and anchored to earth as a nurturer. We exist trapped between moving forward from the past, and time moving backward toward us, weighed down by our ability to lay claim to the victory of harvest.
