It takes many heartaches, disappointments and broken relationships for this type of genuine love to finally knock on your door. It is that same pain and darkness from failed relationships that helps us realize what we do NOT want in our lives and pushes us to continuously walk towards light. Love finds you when you are busy discovering your own magic. When you have learned to love yourself above everything, have recognized YOUR OWN WORTH, and know the importance of silence and solitude- especially, in relationships. It brings you together after you’ve both done your healing, your spiritual work, your metamorphosis ON YOUR OWN. It merges your worlds when you’re both ready to build, create, learn, continue to heal, and grow even further together without putting any emotional baggage of your past on each other’s shoulders or consuming each other’s energy dry. Oh yes, you will have tough moments and arguments! But they will revolve around heart expansion and showing the other person where there’s room to improve in the path towards becoming their best self. It took me 32 years (and probably many past lives) to experience this type of love. Santiago and I met at a moment where neither of us was looking for a relationship but, apparently, the universe knew better. 25 video calls (COVID modern love) later, we moved in together taking the biggest leap of faith, and here we are still. Taming each other’s fears and not our dreams. Kissing each other’s souls and not only our bodies. Shattering our barriers and not our wings. Enlightening each other instead of breaking one another.
