We wanted you to start your #WorldElephantDay with some of the precious individuals you’ve helped us save. So we are coming to you live from our Nairobi Nursery, where Peter and Kirsty are joining the orphans in the forest. They’ll introduce us to as many of the elephants as they can, and stay tuned for a meet and greet with baby Mzinga – who recently joined our foster program – and her best friend, who we will be meeting properly later today! These elephants lost their mothers for different reasons: poaching, human-wildlife conflict, even drought. Without our intervention, made possible with your support, they would not have survived. They are among 100 elephants currently dependent upon us, across all our units, and our mission is to support them all on a journey back to a life in the wild when grown, as we have already successfully achieved with over 180 elephants before them.
