I stepped off of my final flight - 11h and completely sleepless, rushed my way thought customs and immigration, picked my checked bag and immediately made my way here. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ I have long since accepted that I am a bit of an outcast - but I guess thats what the internet really provides us (for better or worse) - a sense of belonging and connection for those who never truly felt it before. There was something about this trip that felt different though - different in the way that I felt the first time I visited my family in the Austrian Alps. A sense of belonging in an unfamiliar place with people I hardly knew. Maybe it is nothing more than a self fulfilling prophecy of me connecting back to my roots (I did, after all, obtain citizenship to a country that I have never lived in and do not speak the language after visiting for a total of less than six months in my life). But after nearly 24 hours of constant travel from my front door to this hut there was no doubt in my (maybe delirious) mind that this is where I was meant to be.
